Who would have thought that an old London power station would be the center of one of the worlds largest collection of modern and contemporary art. And one of the most visited. Tate Modern on the South Bank is just that.
The collection has grown so much that in 2016 it opened a much acclaimed extension and even is you are not interested in art the building itself is worth a visit. The cavernous Turbine Hall which once held the big large machines of the power station are today silent. Large commissioned works, are once a year being displayed here and are always highly anticipated.
On a guided tour of Tate Modern we shall look and hear about some of the great British and international artists that is on display. I will show you that modern art is not scary at all! Its fun to discus art and see how everyone looks at it differently.
Picasso, Warhol, Hockney all displayed side by side with the likes of Freud, Tuner and Rothko.
Tate Modern has free entrance apart from access to special exhibitions.
